36 Therefore they came back and told him. And he said, "This [is] the word of the LORD, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 'On the plot [of ground] at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel; 37 'and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say, "Here [lies] Jezebel." ' " - 2Ki 9:36-37 NKJV
The Bible tells of a woman who was so evil she committed mass murder by having all of God's prophets murdered. Her death was prophesied and came forth just as the Lord said would happen through the prophet Elijah. God is not a man that He will lie – if He says something, He will surely do it.
The Bible is full of prophetic words and deeds that God declared through the mouth of His prophets, yet today few believe that God is still speaking, and many do not believe He will ever judge the unrighteous acts of people. The Spirit of the fear of the Lord should make us think differently. The idea that we would question God's character reflects a society of people who do not fear God nor know Him. For this reason, many people continue to live in sin, and preachers refuse to address corruption.
I drove by a church recently called Church of Palms, and their neon sign boasted that they were "open and affirming" while flying the rainbow sign of God's covenant in the background. Talk about being in your face with "pride" and a lack of reverence to God! I must admit that I was not too shocked by this church's boastful attitude because it is becoming quite the norm nowadays. Their sign also flashed, "social justice is the surest guarantor of peace in the world." – Guy Ryder.
Interesting concept for a church to be speaking since Jesus Christ is our only assurance of peace. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. - Jhn 14:27 The world's peace is not supernatural, it is not genuine, and it is not longstanding. The peace that this world offers is dangerous and temporary because it always involves the work of the flesh.
If we are going to be free from the influence of demonic spirits, we must be free from the influence of the world. The spirit of the world embraces all things of the flesh with the attitude that everything that feels good is good. This kind of thinking is the opposite of what Jesus required of those He called upon, saying, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." – Mar 8:34b
To deny oneself is to refuse access to the realms of self and demonic spirits. Self-denial opens the realms of Heaven and releases God's will into us and the earth. Jesus said to pray, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done." Not our will but God's will is what needs to be released on earth.
We often insist that we deny ourselves and embrace God's will, but we have a spirit of fear or pride working behind the scenes, making our motives impure. Peter was like this at one point. Jesus assured Peter that he would deny Him three times before the rooster crowed twice (Mar 14:30-31). Peter's response was, "If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!" The rest of the disciples said the same thing. Peter declared his willingness to die with Jesus but denied being His disciple when things got tough, and the others ran away.
Jezebel Seduces Through the World
"Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. - Rev 2:20
A Jezebel spirit is working diligently to destroy America, and we see very little resistance. Not only have our politicians, that are hired by the citizens, embracing the opposite of morality and feeding at Jezebel's table, but many pastors are as well.
Jesus did not mince words when He said He had something against those who embrace a Jezebel doctrine. He said they tolerated this individual and the spirit behind her. A Jezebel spirit does not work alone; the spirit must find something in common with an individual so that it can hold them hostage. When a person has rebellion in their heart, is unsubmitted, operates out of a spirit of rejection, or has been instructed with error, they are open for Jezebel to influence them. Jezebel is a demonic power, a principality which means it is a commanding general. The generals gain access to a person through their sins and wounds. It will use demonic spirits to enter the person's thought life and puppet them into doing as the devil desires.
People under the influence of demonic spirits permit the spirit to act out through them, demonstrating its personality and power. It is easy to think it is the person behaving this way unless we understand that our warfare is not in the flesh but the spiritual. Not everyone who acts in an immoral or bad way is acting on behalf of the devil. However, we should be discerning before coming to a conclusion.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places]. - Eph 6:12
When we read verses such as this one in Ephesians, we should be encouraged because they are keys to overcoming the trials that Jesus said we would encounter. Jesus made a spectacle out of Satan and disarmed him when He overcame death on the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. - Col 2:15
The enemy's armor is what we give him through sin and unforgiveness and what we inherit from the sins of our ancestors. Armor is a defensive covering for the body, and through circumstances of sin, it is protection for the enemy, a stronghold. When Jesus disarmed Satan and his army, He removed their weapons and deprived them of the means of attack or defense against us. So if Satan is harmless, why does he have so much influence and power over God's people? The answer is not that complicated; a variety of sins, including generational and cultural sins gives Satan access to our souls.
We live in a society that embraces immorality in various forms and has neglected God's word and His commands. Love is distorted, and the truth is perverted. God's word is no longer the foundation of America, and it shows in every mountain of influence.
The Bible tells us that all have fallen short of the glory of God; not one person has perfected their own salvation. We are all working out the salvation Jesus gave us, and we should be doing so with fear and trembling. We serve a mighty God who loves us unconditionally, but blessings come with obedience.
If you want to deny access to Jezebelic spirits or any other demons, then you must deny your flesh.
Let's pray,
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I confess that I have fallen short of Your glory on numerous occasions. My ancestors have sinned, and I live among a sinful nation. I know that I need to deny my lustful flesh in many areas but have struggled to say no to the world's food. I know that I cannot drink the cup of the devil and Jesus so, I choose the bread of life. I ask for forgiveness in every area I have sinned and allowed the demonic realm to influence me. I reject the wisdom of the world and the demonic wisdom presented to me, and I choose You. I choose life and blessings. Thank You for empowering me, Holy Spirit, to overcome and take the victory of the cross over my life. In Jesus name, Amen
