Fear often holds us back from fully stepping into the purpose God has for our lives. Many believers struggle with doubt, hesitation, or uncertainty when called to serve or build for God's kingdom. Yet the Bible shows us powerful examples of men and women who encountered God's glory and answered His call with faith and courage.
Understanding how to overcome fear and embrace God's call can transform your Jesus journey and bring you into a deeper experience of God's presence.

God’s glory often appears as a visible manifestation, inviting us to step into His presence with faith.
Understanding the Glory of God
The glory of God is the visible or tangible manifestation of His presence. In the Bible, Moses experienced God's glory in a unique way - by fire and a cloud of smoke. Solomon and the priests witnessed the glory cloud filling the temple. Jesus Himself was the glory of God made flesh, revealing God's presence in human form.
God's glory can appear as fire, smoke, or a cloud, but these are spiritual realities, not natural phenomena. When we encounter God's glory, it can be a call to action—a call to build and serve His kingdom, not our own ambitions. Other times it is as a result of building for Him.
Why Fear Keeps Us from Going “All In”
Fear can paralyze us, making us hesitate or hold back from fully committing to God's call. This fear may come from:
Doubt about our abilities or worthiness
Fear of failure or rejection
Concern over the unknown future
Attachment to comfort and security
Even with good intentions, many people end up building for themselves rather than for God's kingdom because fear limits their faith and obedience.
The Promise for Presence Seekers
God promises that those who seek Him with all their heart will find Him. “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” - Jeremiah 29:13 This means half-hearted efforts or routine prayers will not bring the intimacy and power that come from fully pursuing God.
Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that faith is essential: “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Faith unlocks the door to experiencing God's presence and power.
Seeking God fully requires intentional steps:
Pray with sincerity and persistence. Avoid formulaic prayers; speak honestly and from your heart.
Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your faith. Faith grows when we invite the Spirit to work in us.
Study Scripture to understand God’s promises and character. Let His Word build your confidence.
Surround yourself with a community of believers. Fellowship encourages and strengthens faith.
Obey God’s leading, even when it’s uncomfortable. Obedience deepens intimacy with God.
Examples of Faithful Obedience in the Bible
Jesus called His twelve disciples and gave them authority over demons and sickness. He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God, instructing them to take nothing for the journey except their faith and the Spirit’s power (Luke 9:1-4). Their success depended on trusting God fully, not on their own resources.
This example shows that God equips those who step out in faith. When fear tries to hold you back, remember that God provides what you need to fulfill His call.
Practical Steps to Overcome Fear and Go “All In”
Identify your fears. Write down what holds you back and bring these fears to God in prayer.
Replace fear with faith. Memorize verses like Jeremiah 29:13 and Hebrews 11:6 to remind yourself of God’s promises.
Take small steps of obedience. Start with manageable actions that build your confidence in God’s leading.
Seek support from mentors or spiritual leaders. They can provide encouragement and guidance.
Celebrate victories, no matter how small. Recognize how God works through your faithfulness.
Keep your focus on God’s glory, not your comfort. Remember, the enemy does not want you to experience God's glory. However, building for God’s kingdom brings eternal impact.
Living a Life Fully Committed to God’s Call
When you overcome fear and embrace God’s call, your life becomes a testimony of His glory. You will experience His presence in deeper ways and see His power at work through you. This commitment requires faith, courage, and a heart fully devoted to seeking God.
God desires to be found by those who seek Him wholeheartedly. Your willingness to go “all in” opens the door for His glory to manifest in your life and through your service.
Let's pray,
Heavenly Father, in Christ I am made strong. With You on my side, man can do me no harm. Help me to keep Your word in my heart, leading and directing every step for Your glory. In Jesus name. Amen
