Deception, Truth, and the Way Home

Delivered from Deception
If you want to be delivered from deception, you must be willing to accept the truth. Paul wrote the church in Galatia, warning, I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. – Gal 1:6-9
There are thousands of man-made roads to eternity. Some believe you die and reincarnate. Some believe things about heaven that are unbiblical. Some believe that you have to be a certain religion to enter eternal life with God. Some believe in a completely different Jesus than the true God that is Jesus Christ, Yeshua, the Messiah.
All roads do not lead to one end. A coroner's report tells us that we were dead.
And you [He made alive], who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world... and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. - Eph 2:1-3 NKJV
Cause of death? Sin and trespasses against God. Disobedience due to fear, addiction, self-will, which is rebellion and witchcraft, or disobedience for any other reason is still simply refusal to obey the will of God.
Seek the Truth
God said, seek Me, and you will find Me. Seek Me, and I will tell you things you do not know. Seek Me diligently, and I will reward you. Seek Me if you need wisdom, and I will give it without measure.
The world is full of seekers. Some seek power. Some seek truth. Some seek freedom. Some seek peace. Some seek religion. Some seek acceptance. Some seek love. Some seek to be found.
Seeking is a good thing. But when we land in a place contrary to the word of God, we are deceived. Jesus warned us not to be deceived, saying many false prophets would come.
We all need God and have an innate desire to know Him. Without the Holy Spirit, we are in danger of finding another Jesus, or following another gospel.
Paul said, For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! - 2 Cor 11:4
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. – 2 Cor 11:13-15
Jesus also warned of false teachers and that we had to be aware of such. There are many “truths” out there according to the world, but only one of them leads to home.
Jesus Christ.
Home.
The Way Home
One day we are going to leave this place, and we are told there are many rooms for us in the Father’s house. Those rooms have names. Our name must be written in the book of life if we are going to get into one of those rooms.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you... that where I am, there you may be also. – Jn 14:2-3
Jesus is returning. Those left alive at the time will be taken up, and those dead in Christ already will be received as well. A new heaven and earth will be established, and Jesus Christ will reign as King for 1000 years. These are biblical truths. How they are taught depends on the theology of the teacher.
Charles Capp wrote in his book, A Messenger of Satan, that “A false truth is a statement that is in the Bible that has been accurately recorded, but when used or quoted out of context it is not true at all.”
Many people are unaware that they are fighting themselves by what they believe. The only way to be free from self is to know the one that created you. He will help you identify the lies and draw you into His truth.
Jesus said, No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. – Jn 6:44
You don’t decide; you respond to the call of salvation. God grants us into His kingdom. We hear His voice, say yes to Jesus, and embrace God’s truth. All of it. Even the truths that make us uncomfortable.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – Jn 14:6
The road is narrow, and few find it. The broad road that leads to destruction is popular, and everyone wants on it. It looks good, feels good, and tastes good. The flesh is satisfied until it dies, and that which remains, the soul, has to answer for what it did with the opportunity for salvation.
Abide in the Word
The Bible has been twisted into man’s reality. The Bible is the word of God and is meant to teach, reproof, correct, and instruct in righteousness. But the perversion of God’s truth has caused much division.
Let me give you an example of biblical non-truths. The word is true, but the way it is stated is not. You have heard the word, You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Jesus said this. But if we hear this without its full context, we may receive anything as truth. We can add our truth.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” - Jn 8:31-32
Hear the difference? The full context is abiding in the word of God. Being a disciple. Getting free from knowing the Truth.
It is not merely knowing the truth that brings freedom but abiding in the truth. Deception is sneaky. We saw seductive deception in the garden, and it changed the course of God’s original design.
Examine the Fruit
You see, many people don’t know what you believe. They are in a different truth. We cannot get mad at them because they don’t believe as we do. They must know and abide in the truth to be free.
How will they know the truth unless a preacher is sent to them? A preacher of truth must go out and tell everyone the truth. But don’t expect them to understand simply because you said it. The Spirit of the living God must open them to the gospel – the good news of Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:28 is another example of a scripture often taken out of context. This one gets to me because it dismisses the most important point of the verse.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. – Rom 8:28
This verse is always shortened by people to say, “God will work all things for the good.” Nope, it doesn’t mean that. It means all things, every circumstance, every problem, and every trial will work together in accordance with a plan for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
If you are wondering if you are believing the true gospel, look at the fruit of your life. Examine the works of your heart, the thoughts of your mind, and your actions.
These scriptures will help you identify your condition with God. Child of God? Child of the devil? Remember, there is only one way there, and that is through Jesus Christ.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: - Jhn 1:12 NKJV
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. - Rom 8:14 NKJV
Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. - 1Jo 3:10-11 NKJV

Heavenly Father, I choose to believe in the one true Jesus Christ and that He alone has rescued me. I confess any doubt and unbelief, and I renounce confusion and receive clarity and truth. Help me walk according to Your Spirit and not the spirit of this world. In Jesus name, Amen
